Oxyd™ V3.5
From the author:
Dongleware's new game Oxyd is a gripping challenge in creativity,
hand and mind coordination. Using the mouse, a black marble is
guided through elaborate mazes. Every landscape introduces new
game elements which may be explored and studied in a playful way.
Although the game mechanics are easily understood there are no
quick fixes or simplistic approaches to the intricate puzzles
presented in Oxyd.
Great fun and excitement comes from the multitude of surfaces
encountered throughout the game. These may consist of tiles
differing in texture, curvature and the amount of friction
generated as the marble moves across them, as well as swampy and
icy areas, deep chasms, raised or sunken passage ways. A number
of objects may be picked up by rolling over them with the marble.
There's a sledge-hammer which lets the player break down certain
wall sections to gain access to adjacent rooms. The hammer may
also be used to create other useful tools, but that's for you to
find out ...
Download Oxyd, then get down to a weekend of fun as you wander
through the first 10 landscapes. By the time you reach level 11
you'll want to get the Oxyd Book which contains useful maps,
hints as well as the secret magic formulas giving you access
to the remaining 90 levels of the single-player game. For an
entirely new adventure invite a friend to play the dual-player
game via modem or AppleTalk. You'll find an additional 100
levels specifically designed for the dual-player game and very
different from the ones you encountered previously on your own.
Oxyd is available for Mac, IBM-PC, NeXT, Amiga, Atari ST/TT and
Falcon computers.
If you do not want to download the large program (about 700 KB),
you may order the disk at one of the addresses below by just a
telephone call.
Oxyd, it's more than a game, it's an adventure in science and
exploration!
